"What is learning to you?" I asked myself as I was trying to think of what I wanted to include in this post. Words like curiosity, risky, life long, challenging, exciting and many more bombarded my thoughts, but after careful reflection I realized that the underlying factor beneath the meaning of all of these words was growth. I truly, completely, and passionately belive that learning and growth occur in tandem, each lending and borrowing from one another, allowing us to consistently develop throughout our lives if we are open to it.
One of the most recent additions to my learning and growth is the presence of Digital Storytelling in my education. Through this, I have learned a lot about various edits told and softwares, but also a lot about myself. Speaking to my own experience, creating my story required a significant amount of reflection into my past experience, ideas, thoughts and process which I hadn't previously considered. This process really allowed me to attain deeper learning opportunities on the digital and interpersonal spectrum.
It is no secret that media and digital tools have altered the way that society does a lot of things. From ordering food or clothing online to your doorstep, to communicating with friends all over the world instantaneously, things have really changed. Our notions of learning are no exception to this. We now live in a time where we are able to access pretty much any piece of information from the palm of our hand. Adapting our idea of learning to this information age is crucial to continues growth.
